Ikan Biru is for those who wish to dive, dive, dive. As an advanced-only boat, Ikan Biru allows guests the opportunity to dive the best spots in the park at optimal tides. That means you are sure to go to Manta Point on a rising tide where you are more likely to see mantas and hit the dive site, The Cauldron, on a fast falling tide to experience the ultimate adrenaline rush. We ensure guests get a minimum of 3 dives per night, but you might find that full days on the boat allow time for up to 5!
Boasting a spacious upper deck, Ikan Biru is well fitted for guests to relax, dine, and sleep under the stars in absolute comfort. Serving as a cushion filled lounge during the day, at night the crew convert the upper deck into open air sleeping with comfortable mattresses and bedding. The two below-deck guest bathrooms are fitted with all necessary toiletries and hot fresh-water showers. Ikan Biru has a fully stocked kitchen with two fridge/freezers, beer/wine cooler and gas cook top/oven. Our onboard chef is a pro in his space and even serves freshly made bread each morning. Ikan Biru is equipped with modern marine safety equipment and an extremely experienced sailing & dive crew in accordance with marine tourism guidelines.
Our liveaboard, Ikan Biru, runs on a rolling schedule with a unique, "hop-on, hop-off" concept. This essentially means, you decide when to arrive, how long to stay (minimum 2 nights) and when to disembark! We can whisk you out to the boat and collect you from the boat using either of our dayboats. (If joining a trip where the liveaboard is already out, you must be here by 8am to join the liveaboard that day) You pay per night and are guaranteed a minimum of 3 dives per night booked. The cost is inclusive of dive gear, rental computer, dragon trekking, food, soft drinks, juices but excludes: park entrance & diving fees and alcohol. You tell us the dates that suit you best and we can build trips around those preferences, slotting other guests into free spaces and organising things on a first-come, first-serve basis. The price is IDR 3.500.000/ night per person. The boat can take up to 8 divers + our 2 dive instructors. We only take advanced divers, but we do offer the advanced course on-board as a special package for just an additional IDR 3.200.000/person. We also need a minimum of 3 nights to ensure that we can visit both the Komodo dragons at Pulau Rinca and the north side of the park, as these attractions are on opposite sides of the park.

Before You Go:
ITINERARY: Blue Marlin Komodo is intent on always ensuring the safest and best diving possible. Because of this, we cannot promise a set itinerary. Each schedule is set based on currents, conditions, and group level of experience. A trip to Rinca to see the dragons is only promised if spending 3+ nights on board.
HOP-ON, HOP-OFF: As the Ikan Biru does not run on a set schedule, we use our speedboats to transfer guests to wherever the boat happens to be in the park at that time. You must be at the shop by 8am in order to embark on the boat. Likewise, all guests will be transported back to land around 4 pm on day of departure.
NO FLY TIME: You cannot depart the boat and fly on the same day. All dives on the day of departure will be no later than 3 pm, allowing all guests to be able to fly by 9 am the next day.
CERTIFICATION LEVEL: All divers on the Ikan Biru MUST HAVE AN ADVANCED LEVEL CERTIFICATION. As this boat accommodates different groups of divers, we always wish to ensure all divers get to dive the best sites in the park. In Komodo, most of those sites are advanced. It is possible to complete your advanced open water certification on board for an additional USD 220.
DIETARY RESTRICTIONS: All meals are served family style by our amazing chef, Jos. We have no problem catering to special dietary needs, but please let us know beforehand.
Luggage: While there are large lockers available onboard, we are more than happy to store your larger pieces of luggage back on land in our locked tech room.
Insurance: On Ikan Biru, we mandate dive insurance as Komodo is a remote diving destination with the nearest recompression chamber located in Bali. It is advisable to check your travel insurance for evacuations in the case of emergency. If not covered then we offer DAN (Divers Alert Network) Short Term Insurance for USD 40/10 days or USD 50/ 30 days.
